I am

an 8th Grader in Mr. Allison's New Journalism class at East Bronx Academy for the Future

My name is Rebecca. I am smart and very sensitive. I write about things that inspire me and things I love!I love school and have good grades. I also love animals and I love to draw them too. I have many pets and want to be a vet when I grow up. Those are some things about me.
School is fun to me. I love math and science the most. I have to love it because I want to be a vet. I have fun with my friends. After school I work in the library. I get to work with my best friend in the library. It's fun and sometimes we get to hang out in there because we finished all our work. That's why I love school. For me, it is fun to see the look o my parents face when they see my grades.
When I'm not in school I mostly stay home. Sometimes me and my mom would go out shopping, to eat something, or to just hang out. Twice a month we would go out and hang out with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would have so much fun and we would play around. At home I would play video games or make blankets. I would also paint or draw animals. That's what I do when I'm not in school.

Elizabeth's poem shows a lot of feeling

I found a I Am in Space, Issue #2 by Elizabeth.

I liked “I Am ,” because the auther used the poem to express how she felt she was.

One part that stands out for me is: “ I am from the big stores and the big school to the big trees. I am from the love of my Grandmother.” I think this is good because it shows that she shops in nice stores and goes to a nice school. It also shows that she gets a lot of love from her family.

Another sentence that I liked was: “ I am from the Spanish words that come out my families mouth.” This stood out for me because it shows that she is spanish and she could probably talk two languages.

I do strongly agree with Elizabeth that most memories are in our heads. One reason I say this is because we have pictures of things, but we have more memories in our head. Another reason I agree with her is beacuse most all arew memories are in our head, but we have to try hard to remember everything.

I look forward to seeing what Elizabeth makes next, because her poem has a lot of feelng and shows a lot about her. She clearly shows her life in her poems and shows who she is. So I look fowaqrd in seeing her next poem.
