I am

an 8th Grader in Mr. Allison's New Journalism class at East Bronx Academy for the Future

My name is Rebecca. I am smart and very sensitive. I write about things that inspire me and things I love!I love school and have good grades. I also love animals and I love to draw them too. I have many pets and want to be a vet when I grow up. Those are some things about me.
School is fun to me. I love math and science the most. I have to love it because I want to be a vet. I have fun with my friends. After school I work in the library. I get to work with my best friend in the library. It's fun and sometimes we get to hang out in there because we finished all our work. That's why I love school. For me, it is fun to see the look o my parents face when they see my grades.
When I'm not in school I mostly stay home. Sometimes me and my mom would go out shopping, to eat something, or to just hang out. Twice a month we would go out and hang out with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would have so much fun and we would play around. At home I would play video games or make blankets. I would also paint or draw animals. That's what I do when I'm not in school.

Why we go to school?

We go to school to learn new things. We need to go to school so that when we grow up we can get a good job. If we didn’t go to school, then a lot of people will be homeless because it will be hard for them to get a job if they are not educated. Then a lot of kids today think that schools a joke and don’t want to good to school. A lot of kids drop out of school not knowing how they are messing up their lives. I think school is good and want a good education. I what to have a good job when I grow up and make a lot of money. I just find a better side of school and try to have fun in school. So that is why we should go to school.
