an 8th Grader in Mr. Allison's New Journalism class at East Bronx Academy for the Future

My name is Rebecca. I am smart and very sensitive. I write about things that inspire me and things I love!I love school and have good grades. I also love animals and I love to draw them too. I have many pets and want to be a vet when I grow up. Those are some things about me.
School is fun to me. I love math and science the most. I have to love it because I want to be a vet. I have fun with my friends. After school I work in the library. I get to work with my best friend in the library. It's fun and sometimes we get to hang out in there because we finished all our work. That's why I love school. For me, it is fun to see the look o my parents face when they see my grades.
When I'm not in school I mostly stay home. Sometimes me and my mom would go out shopping, to eat something, or to just hang out. Twice a month we would go out and hang out with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would have so much fun and we would play around. At home I would play video games or make blankets. I would also paint or draw animals. That's what I do when I'm not in school.

I think that if someone is going to have pets, they have to be able to take care of them. They have to be able to take time to groom and clean the animals, even that animals houses. They most also have enough more to take care of the animals and take the animals to the vet. But it might be over doing it if you have more than 100 dead and sick animals.
