I am

an 8th Grader in Mr. Allison's New Journalism class at East Bronx Academy for the Future

My name is Rebecca. I am smart and very sensitive. I write about things that inspire me and things I love!I love school and have good grades. I also love animals and I love to draw them too. I have many pets and want to be a vet when I grow up. Those are some things about me.
School is fun to me. I love math and science the most. I have to love it because I want to be a vet. I have fun with my friends. After school I work in the library. I get to work with my best friend in the library. It's fun and sometimes we get to hang out in there because we finished all our work. That's why I love school. For me, it is fun to see the look o my parents face when they see my grades.
When I'm not in school I mostly stay home. Sometimes me and my mom would go out shopping, to eat something, or to just hang out. Twice a month we would go out and hang out with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would have so much fun and we would play around. At home I would play video games or make blankets. I would also paint or draw animals. That's what I do when I'm not in school.

Spring, what a nice poem!

I found a poem in Space #3 by Kristy.

I liked “Spring,” because it showed what this person sees when spring is beginning. This is similar to the way I think spring looks like when it begins.

One part that stands out for me is: “While running down the road, I begin to look around, I spot something green on the ground.” I think this is good because it shows that spring is beginning. It shows how the plants are beginning to grow. I also like the fact that the poem rhymes.

Another part that I liked was: “Spring is here spring is here! Everyone begins to cheer!” This stood out for me because it shows how much people joy spring if they all get up and cheer.

I look forward to seeing what Kristy makes next, because this poem kind of related to almost everyone. A lot of people like spring and a lot of people would take time to look at the plants growing.
